Wales beats North Macedonia and enters play-offs
From Group J, Wales qualified for the play-offs. Prior to the last round, that team had as many points as North Macedonia, but the North Macedonians had a better goal difference. Wales had to win and did so more than convincingly: 7-1.
Group E: Spain could have a draw
In Group E, Spain knew that it could lose by a lot at home to pursuer Turkey to still get a World Cup ticket. The Spaniards also fell behind Sevilla, but wiped it away: 2-2.
Dani Olmo quickly put Spain at 1-0, Deniz Gul equalized and Salih Ozcan gave the Turks the lead after the break. A crazy goal from Mikel Oyarzabal meant 2-2, with which Spain goes to the World Cup and Turkey awaits the play-offs.
