Belgian speleologist (47) freed from French cave after rescue operation lasting more than 24 hours | Abroad

The 47-year-old Belgian had descended into the cave on Friday, along with eight people. However, at the end of the winding gallery, a few hours from the entrance and 400 meters below the ground, he fell. The man broke his arm and suffered several injuries.

During the rescue operation, he was kept warm with a tent and warm clothing, and there was permanent contact with a doctor. The victim was freed on a stretcher. He was taken to Montpellier hospital. No details are known about the identity of the victim.
