Belgian Metro stores generate a turnover of 31 million euros for Dutch acquirer Sligro | Economy

Sligro took over nine of the eleven Metro wholesalers in Belgium. They were part of the bankrupt Makro Cash & Carry Belgium. In the first quarter, they accounted for a turnover of 31 million euros, according to the Dutch group.

Sligro’s total turnover increased by more than 35 percent to EUR 634 million in the first three months of the year. Of this, 100 million euros is realized in Belgium, compared to 45 million euros a year ago. The majority of the turnover (533 million euros) is generated in the home country of the Netherlands.
