Belarus has imposed a food embargo against Serbia and Liechtenstein

The government of Belarus has expanded the list of countries for the food embargo, it includes Serbia and Liechtenstein, follows from the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. Document published on the national legal Internet portal.

Previously, a ban on the import of products to Belarus acted for EU countries, USA, Canada, Norway, Albania, Iceland, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Switzerland.

The Belarusian authorities imposed a food embargo on Western countries on December 6, 2021. The restrictions came into effect on January 1st. Among the products prohibited for import were pork, a number of offal, milk and dairy products (with some exceptions), vegetables (except those intended for sowing), fruits and nuts, animal oils, sausages, confectionery, salt.

The press service of the Belarusian president explained that the embargo does not apply to goods for personal consumption.
