After three years without a championship and recently two disappointing third places, FC Porto continues to drive the squad break. Polish international Jan Bednarek comes from Premier League relegated FC Southampton and signed a contract until 2029, as the Dragões (dragon) announced. This contains an exhaustion clause mandatory in Portugal, which is 60 million euros.
According to Portos, the transfer for the 29 -year -old central defender is EUR 7.5 million. The expenses for new additions are increasing to EUR 88.6 million, and a record for the FCP has long been a record for Bednarek’s transfer. Among other things, the midfielder Victor Froholdt (19, Copenhagen) or Gabri Veiga (23, Al-Ahli) had already signed this. For departures around Francisco Conceição (22, Juventus), EUR 74.5 million flowed into Portos cash registers. The club last had a negative transfer balance in the 2016/17 season (for Porto’s transfer overview).
