Germany’s best tennis professional Alexander Zverev cannot be looked at the cards with regard to possible cooperation with Boris Becker.
“Boris and I have a great connection. If something happens, we let you know,” said Zverev in the “Sky” interview before the ATP Masters on Monday in his adopted home Monte Carlo: “You can speculate and make a story about it. I don’t say anything about it.”
Becker once led the Serbs Novak Djokovic to six of his now 24 Grand Slam titles as “Supercoach”. Zverev is currently being looked after by his father Alexander Senior.
The rumors about a possible cooperation between the two sizes of German men’s tennis have been persistent for a long time.
When asked about the “dreams” of German fans about a cooperation, Zverev blocked: “I dream of winning tournaments and have to look at myself.”
Tennis: Alexander Zverev “Mentally very taken away”
After his final defeat at the Australian Open against Jannik Sinner, Zverev slipped into a low of form and had experienced one disappointment after the other.
The final “took him mentally very much, I was very depressed and also very tired,” admitted the 27-year-old. In his adopted home, the world ranking second wants to attack sand again on his favorite covering.
“For me it is now the most important thing that I win tennis matches and my self-confidence. This is the main thing. It doesn’t matter whether it is sand, hard or lawn.
In view of the three -month doping lock from Sinner (until May 4), Zverev still has the minimal chance of becoming number one in the world in the coming weeks. But he would have to win the tournaments in Monte Carlo, Munich and Madrid.
