We returned to one of the most appreciated steering wheels, the Logitech G923 TrueForce, to test it again almost 5 years later, together with the manual gearbox in H.
The first time we tried the Logitech G923 TrueForce was close to its release in 2020. We were more users than flyers experts, and since then water under the bridges has passed a lot. After tasting about it, we returned to this steering wheel, and the impressions have remained positive: the G923 is still an entry levy level solution today. We talk about it in this study.
The assembly of the Logitech G923 TrueForce reveals why this is the perfect meeting point between those who want a steering wheel with a credible feedback and an accessible use experience. The operations will have requested around 10-15 minutes, it undoubtedly thanks to the fact that the crown is already connected by the engine package.
The attachment to the table is also included in the engine: through two buttons on the sides, we can activate or deactivate the terminals, which then work in screw, to be rotated by hand. Even here: very fast operation, and the grip at the table is firm (a little less, we will see it, for the gearbox to H). The cables are crammed in the lower part of the steering wheel and this could represent a design problem, but Logitech was good at solving it by creating four grooves in which to put them in a very orderly way.
The setup and the steering wheel –
After playing with flyers of several brands and more ambitious from a simulative point of view, returning to the Logitech G923 Trueforce returns a very first impression of greater “toy”: it is significantly smaller than those of other brands that we have recently tried, but this It does not mean that a minor care has been reserved, on the contrary.

The crown all in leather and the seams exposed give it a true racer look, as well as making the grip comfortable and pleasant even without gloves (which is impossible when the crowns are instead in rubber). We tried the PS5/PC version, and the PlayStation buttons all have the right cliciness: only the directional cross is a little softer, but the directions are all well identifiable to the touch. The tachometer just above the logo in the reflective glass is cute and grafted. The rear pans for gear changes are also rather clicted, but the problem is another: the click starts before they end their race, and this species in very frenetic games such as EA Sports WRC, where you must necessarily trust the audio feedback , leads to situations where you think you have changed gears but in reality you haven’t done it yet.
Once you take to the track, the configuration experience on F1 24 was very positive. We are lovers of a lighter brake, and for this we switch between brake and clutch as soon as possible. With flyers of other brands, this simple operation can give us scratch cards, while in this case it has been trivial as it seems. Beyond this, he surprised us the lightness of the pedal and how, despite the reduced weight, he manages to remain adherent all the time at the floor.
Driving force force gear lever –
That said, the steering wheel is very precise, and it was as if we had never stopped using it in these almost five years. According to the center of the track, the feedback is lighter than the Direct Drive, of course, while on the curbs the vibration is satisfactory enough to keep away. The steering can be a little light. This changes from game to play, and in fact the results are already different from F1 24 to WRC to prove a great eclecticity. But at first impact, with predefined settings, it would seem to make it more suitable for sports racing than to road ones such as the recent pre -racing extra racing, on which we also put it to the test.

Together with the steering wheel, we also tested the gearbox in H Logitech (official denomination: Driving Force gear lever). It should be purchased separately, at the list price of 69.99 euros, but it is the perfect complement for the G923 package. The graft of the gears has a credible weight, and the device, despite a shorter lever and a smaller knob than the road counterparts, is very realistic. The quality of leather materials is then excellent.
The only note is that the fixing system has not shown itself particularly resistant to the horizontal movements for the gear change, every now and then causing unpleasant movements. For the rest, the experience itself is revealing: to use the change in H, and not the sequential one, opens a completely different world and much closer to how cars really are driven in the rally, holding for example one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the change in the starting phases. After a learning of a few minutes, it will be very difficult to go back.
Logitech G923 TrueForce still keeps –
For all these reasons, available at the list price of 439.00 euros (but is now often located at 279.00), the Logitech G923 TrueForce still represents the ideal entry point in the world of the steering wheels.
