RTL once had them in the house: the men of today Inside. Where they now make the most viewed talk show in the Netherlands at competitor SBS 6, RTL Tonight is a huge flop. One of the faces of that failure is Beau van Erven Dorens, who is really very deep in the shade of VI-host Wilfred Genee. Isn’t he incredibly jealous?
No VI from principle
Beau is anything but jealous of VI, because he thinks it is a disgusting and desperate program. As the Bunch of compassone of the most renowned TV guides in the Netherlands, asks him what he absolutely does not look at, then he doesn’t have to think long.
The RTL 4-presenter says: “I don’t look at today inside, out of principle. They are very successful, but I don’t like that bullying and cynical that is in it. I am much more a positive type. I love the mild, warm power instead of the cynical power.”

Which talk show does Beau admire? “I have always looked at De Wereld Draait Door. That was really a monument from the television, as good as it was made. Matthijs van Nieuwkerk presented that fantastic. Fortunately I praise that I was allowed to sit down regularly.”
Finally: what did he look as a child? “I was a fan of Willem Ruis, one of the television guns. I copied from him how you make a show with full passion with full passion.”
