Beau van Erven Dorens is deliberately trying to sabotage his direct colleague Renze Klamer. Should RTL 4 intervene now that the presenter is putting his own interests above the interests of the broadcaster?
It is unprecedented how Beau van Erven Dorens rails against his direct broadcaster colleague Renze Klamer. The senior TV star is clearly sabotaging the young TV talent. Every other day he makes scathing comments about Renze elsewhere and that of course contributes to a negative sentiment surrounding RTL 4’s new late talk show.
Triumphant
While Beau’s RTL Tonight has completely flopped, Renze is seen as the golden boy who has to pull the channel’s late evening out of the doldrums again. He left RTL Tonight in the early stages because he thought it was a bad program and on the day that the program was stopped, he expressed himself somewhat triumphantly on Instagram.
Renze wrote, referring to the failed desk of RTL Tonight: “Let’s see if I can find such a table somewhere soon. If that works, I would love to see you again every day at RTL4 after the summer 🥂🥳!”
And that didn’t sit well with colleagues Humberto Tan and especially Beau…
Beau pissed off
Beau keeps bashing Renze, this time in his AD column. “The message came to me on a Sunday morning, above the kitchen sink, while I was mixing yogurt with muesli and banana. I quickly read the article. The AD can confirm the news: RTL4’s late-evening talk show will stop for the summer and the presenters will be out.”
“They still have to finish the season. Another, the chosen one, can try to make a talk show again in September, with a table instead of a desk. I take two walnuts in my hand and squeeze them together until one breaks.”
Chosen One
And it doesn’t stop at that mocking name of ‘the chosen one’. Beau: “I receive a screenshot of a message that the chosen one posted on Instagram immediately after the news broke. A photo of him sitting at a talk show table screaming with laughter.”
“Underneath it the text: ‘Let’s see if I can get a table like this somewhere soon. If that works, I would love to see you again every day at RTL4 after the summer 🥂🥳.’ I take two new walnuts, roll them slowly in the palm of my hand and then crack them deftly and hard.”
It’s a good thing Renze’s nuts weren’t available.
Sore loser
Celebrity expert Bart Ettekoven finds it incredible. “Why does he make himself known like this?” he says Show news.
Dyantha Brooks: “Beau turns out to be a sore loser again.”
Patty Brard: “But why?! What does he mean by this?”
Bart: “Well, he was so furious. He was sitting at the kitchen table at home, with a bowl of walnuts and he read the message and he was so furious…”
Dyantha: “There is really quite a bit of resentment, while as a viewer you would think: Renze is going for his career.”
Shortchanged
Bart is done with Beau. “He really feels deprived! He is beating around the bush like crazy.”
Patty: “Maybe it’s also true that… You know what Beau is like. The Book Ball still has the name of the wildest party in the Netherlands because he beat someone up there. He can be quite violent sometimes, while he really has a heart of gold, I mean that seriously. So something is bothering him. The contract is probably at the end.”
Bart: “Or he is disappointed that Renze chose the smart way out. He may not have seen it coming earlier. He is the laughing fourth in this case.”
Overtaken
Dyantha thinks Beau should react more maturely. “I think: Renze is at such a different point in his career, he is still very young. I don’t want to say that he is starting, but Beau is twenty years older.”
Patty: “Yes, but, guys: I can say it: you have to look at it differently. Of course you are overtaken left and right as you get older. You just get older. It is also a miracle that I am still here.”
RTL furious?
Studio guest Kees de Bever can imagine that RTL is really angry with Beau, who is now trying to undermine Renze’s success. “I don’t think RTL likes it very much if you are angry every time… In the first broadcast you are of course angry, that’s fine, but at a certain point…”
Bart: “Yes, then it was thrown at him spontaneously and then he reacted like this… Back then the news was still fresh from that evening. But now… You write a column, you read it again and then you might think: no, that’s not useful, I shouldn’t do that, I might have to sleep on it.”
Harsh words
They also disapprove of Beau’s behavior at RTL. This is what Aran Bade says at the desk RTL Boulevard: “These are harsh words. This is actually an impasse, isn’t it, because Humberto and Beau are now looking after the hut until Renze returns. It really feels like something went wrong with Renze’s post. It just feels very annoying.”
He concludes: “In all, it is a very annoying ending to an already very annoying talk show that just wouldn’t get going.”
