Beach Volleyball World Championships over for Groningen Alexander Brouwer. Among the women, Katja Stam from Klijndijk has qualified for the quarter-finals

The World Cup in Mexico is over for Groningen beach volleyball player Alexander Brouwer.

He and his partner Robert Meeuwsen were eliminated in the eighth finals. Brouwer and Meeuwsen had no chance against the Swedes David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig. The set scores were 21-13 and 21-11.

The Dutch Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot secured a place in the quarter-finals by beating Matthew Immers and Steven van de Velde. The score was 21-18, 16-21 and 15-13 for Boermans and De Groot. The Swedes Ahman and Hellvig are the opponents of Boermans and De Groot in the quarter-finals.

Katja Stam from Klijndijk has reached the last eight

In the women’s tournament, Raïsa Schoon and Katja Stam (from Klijndijk) managed to reach the last eight. The Dutch couple was too strong for Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft from the United States with 21-18, 21-17.

The tournament will be played in the Mexican state of Tlaxcala. The finals are Sunday.
