BEACH VOLLEYBALL – Beach volleyball player Katja Stam from Klijndijk has missed the top prize with Raïsa Schoon in Tlaxcala, Mexico. The final of the challenge tournament was lost.
The Dutch couple, placed fifth, was no match for Barbara Seixas and Carol Salgado. The Brazilian duo won in two sets: 21-19 21-18.
Schoon (20) and Stam (23) were the youngest duo at the Tokyo Games. Shortly afterwards, they finished second at the European Championships. They won five games in Mexico.
