Ulm and the Würzburgs Baskets have achieved victories in the Basketball Bundesliga and remain close to leaders Bayern Munich.
The Ulm team narrowly won 92:89 (48:48) at the MBC from Weißenfels on Saturday. Coach Ty Harrelson’s team now has nine wins and four defeats and is once again the first pursuer of leaders Bayern Munich. The best throwers were Ulm forward Karim Jallow and Weißenfels guard Michael DeVoe (19 points each). This means that the Ulm team are once again the first pursuers of champions Bayern Munich, who have played one game less.
Victories for Rostock and Chemnitz
The Rostock Seawolves have achieved their third win in a row. Head coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz’s team beat Rasta Vechta in the duel for the play-in places with 87:83 (37:40).
In the third game of the day, the Niners Chemnitz made up ground in the fight for the playoff places. Five days after the 82:72 victory in the Central German derby against MBC, the Saxons celebrated their second victory in a row. Against the severely weakened Frankfurt Skyliners there was a clear 85:66 (48:27).
Würzburg defeats Göttingen
The Würzburg Baskets celebrated their ninth win of the season in the Bundesliga on Friday and are now in fourth place in the table. Coach Sasa Filipovski’s team prevailed in a hard-fought game 79:78 (42:36) against bottom team BT Göttingen.
The best thrower for the baskets was Owen Klassen with 15 points, while Tra Holder impressed the guests with 17 points. While Würzburg is establishing itself in the top group, the situation for Göttingen is becoming more and more threatening. With just one win from twelve games, the club remains in a relegation zone.
