The US fashion and media group Authentic Brands Group LLC (ABG) has found a new licensing partner for its DC Shoes brand.
On Friday, the company announced that the US footwear company BBC International LLC will develop DC Shoes’ shoe and snowboard boot collections as part of the agreement. BBC International will also take over global sourcing and wholesale distribution of the brand in the USA and Canada.
David Brooks, EVP of Action & Outdoor Sports and Lifestyle at Authentic Brands Group, praised the new partnership: “We are excited to be working with BBC on DC Shoes, a brand deeply rooted in skateboarding. and streetwear culture,” he explained in a statement. “BBC shares our vision to expand the label’s global presence and offer products that our brand fans will love.”
The group acquired DC Shoes last summer as part of its takeover of the Boardriders Group, along with brands such as Billabong, Quiksilver and Roxy. The Authentic Brands Group portfolio also includes numerous other well-known labels such as Reebok, Hunter, Ted Baker and Forever 21.
