BBB’er Gertjan Schuinder can work as deputy agriculture and culture. With 32 votes in front and 6 against in Provincial States (PS), he was installed tonight. Schuinder is the successor of Deputy Jisse Otter who today conducted his last debates in PS. Otter is retiring.

“I am really looking forward to it,” Schuinder replies to the question of chairman of the Provincial States Jetta Klijnsma if he is looking forward to it.

Before the vote on his appointment, Schuinder had to collect and answer some pests of the opposition in PS. PVV party leader Bert Vooruitkamp wanted to know from Schuinder if he is a realist or bureaucrat. Schuinder: “I am certainly not a bureaucraat, I am a little control freak. And especially a connector.”

Member of States Sam Pomes: Are you here for the BBB or the whole of Drenthe?

Schuinder: “I am part of the BBB so that color is on my cheeks, but we are here for all Drenten. And just like my start as a party leader: together is still my credo.”

PEEKS PEEKS PEEKS: “Jisse Otter have you had in tow rope in recent weeks. How do you deal with questions in a debate?” Schuinder parades: “I have now seen all forty -three styles of debating here in PS (there are 43 members of the States, ed.). I do my own style. And if you think you should say that.”

“In two years, at the end of this lecture period, I want to have a good agricultural race, that the lily growers are already well on their way with their sustainability plans, and that we get more culture money from the government.”

Who the six opponents are is secret, because that is the whole mood about a deputy.

Dirk Evert Waalkens from Assen has become a member of the States for the BBB and with that the 17 -heading group is complete again.
