According to Caroline van der Plas, there is a lot of dissatisfaction among Amsterdam residents about municipal policy and she therefore thinks she has a good chance in the Amsterdam city council. “I expect at least three seats,” she says. “A lot of things that happen in Amsterdam make people in the rest of the country think: ‘What do you mean?’ This used to be the city where everything was possible, but now it is the city where nothing is possible anymore.”
Dissatisfied entrepreneurs
According to Van der Plas, the fact that not many farmers live in Amsterdam is not an obstacle to winning votes in the future. “An entrepreneur here in Amsterdam, such as a pub owner or a shopkeeper, is nothing more than an agricultural entrepreneur. They face the same rules.”
Although the ride from Amsterdam to here was “bizarrely busy” according to Van der Plas and she would therefore never be able to live here herself, she also sees that the city is lively and pleasant: “There is always something to do here. Theater, music and good food.” sitting in the park.” She doesn’t have a favorite pub yet.
