An extra 12 billion euros: how the savings account celebrates a triumphant return after the Van Peteghem government bond

After the Van Peteghem state voucher, the favorite of the saving Belgian makes a triumphant return. While 22 billion still flowed to the fiscally attractive one-year government bond in 2023, the majority of that money in 2024 – around 12 billion euros – simply returned to where it started: the savings account. And there is clearly one major bank that is making a big leap.
