B&B Vol Liefde takes a record start, SBS 6 collapses without Meilandjes

Peter van der Vorst dances on the table all day long: the new season of B&B Vol Liefde opens like a mega hit. And SBS 6? That channel sees things collapse without the Meilandjes.

What an enormous success: the third season of B&B Vol Liefde started last night with 984 thousand viewers (22 percent market share) on RTL 4, good for silver at half past eight and gold at half past nine (this program lasts an hour and a half every day ). Only NPO 1’s MAX Vakantieman (1.3 million and 30 percent) scored better.

Wonderful start

Never before has B&B Vol Liefde started so well. Last year, the series started with 679 thousand viewers and the year before with 764 thousand viewers, according to the analysis channel Look at ratings. An important difference? “Both seasons were then against De Slimste Mens.”

Viewing figure psychic Tina Nijkamp speaks to her channel of a ‘wonderful start’. “And no less than 28 percent market share in the commercial target group aged 25 to 54! So a promising start for B&B Vol Liefde, this could just be a huge record season.”

SBS 6 collapses

Competitor SBS 6 continues to score with the Hélène Hendriks talk show De Oranjezomer (760 thousand viewers and 17 percent), but before that the station managed to captivate only 226 thousand viewers (5 percent) yesterday with a repeat of De Code van Coppens. In other words: the Meilandjes are sorely missed.

Tina: “No matter how boring the season was, the Meiland family is already sorely missed. Hart van Nederland is also disappointing, because it scores lower than De Oranizomer. It also does not go smoothly with the SBS 6 quiz Lettrix. 118 thousand viewers is the second most watched episode, but of course these are terribly depressing numbers.”

Rutte from politics

The Achuurjournaal took the lead with 2.1 million viewers (48 percent), which of course has everything to do with the announced departure of Mark Rutte from politics.

Op1 also did remarkably well with 997 thousand viewers (32 percent) and Nieuwsuur also scored above average with 670 thousand viewers (15 percent).
