Overwhelming superiority of Kompany’s team which consolidates the top of the table: +11 over Borussia Dortmund
First match, first victory, first goal, first place consolidated. In the debut match of 2026, Bayern Munich prevails against Wolfsburg (8-1) and rises to +11 on second-placed Borussia Dortmund. Own goals from Fischer (5′) and Jenz (53′) decide, as well as goals from Diaz (30′), Olise (50′ and 76′), Guerreiro (68′), Kane (69′) and Goretzka (88′). Pejcinovic’s momentary equalizer in the 13th minute was useless. The Bavarians, after some not entirely convincing performances, played a perfect match. Kompany’s team took the lead with their first attack: following Diaz’s cross, Fischer, in an attempt to anticipate Olise, kneed the ball into the goal. Already in the 10th minute the second goal could have been achieved, but Diaz, after excellent control, narrowly missed the target. Thus comes Wolfsburg’s illusory equalizer, with Pejcinovic striking Neuer from close range.

Bayern, however, were not intimidated and after a few unsuccessful attempts, they took the lead again: Olise, after a backheel dribble, served the ball onto the head of Diaz who made it 2-1. In the second half Bayern spreads: Olise is unleashed (and best on the pitch), and in the 50th minute he finds the goal to make it 3-1 after another series of dribbles. A few minutes later, Jenz, again following a cross from Olise, scored the second own goal of the day in an attempt to beat Diaz. Bayern continues to attack, continues to create and, despite wasting some opportunities, continues to score: in the 68th minute Guerreiro only had to score after an assist from Kane, a minute later it was the English striker who made it 6-1 with a real gem. In the 76th minute Olise even scores with his weak foot. Demonstration, even before Goretzka’s 8-1 final, of total superiority.
