Bayern Munich | Unanimously decided: New contract for Hasan Salihamidzic

FC Bayern Munich equips sports director Hasan Salihamidzic with a new contract. This was announced by the German record champions on Monday evening. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on an extension.

Hasan Salihamidzic and FC Bayern Munich have extended their cooperation until 2026. The Munich supervisory board made the decision unanimously at its meeting on Monday, the club announced. President Herbert Hainer proposed the measure.

Hainer had already said in July that Munich wanted to extend Salihamidzic. The former Bayern professional became sports director in 2017 and was then promoted to the board in the summer of 2020. This was associated with a new contract until the end of June 2023.

“Hasan Salihamidžić has done an excellent job in the five years that he has been in charge at FC Bayern. He is constantly developing the sporting area of our professionals and talents structurally and personally,” said the Bayern president. Salihamidzic “gives everything for FC Bayern 24 hours a day. He stands for the FC Bayern gene, for continuity and for titles”.

Salihamidzic has been publicly criticized for transfers in the past. The purchases of Sadio Mané (Liverpool FC), Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch (both Ajax Amsterdam) and Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus Turin) for the season that has just started have brought him a lot of recognition recently.

Salihamidzic thanks FC Bayern for their trust

The supervisory board is “convinced that it will continue to successfully shape the sporting future” of the German record winner “together with his board colleagues in the coming years,” Hainer explained.

The 45-year-old Salihamidzic thanked the club for the “trust” of the committee. “I’ve always said it: I love FC Bayern, Munich is my home. I’m very happy that we can continue our very good and ultimately strong cooperation until 2026.”
