Bayern Munich | Club legend tears Oliver Kahn up in the air: “In the era I see a bad development”

On Saturday, FC Bayern have a mandatory task at Werder Bremen. With their favorite opponent, who is playing a disappointing second half of the season, coach Thomas Tuchel’s protégés want to increase the pressure on pursuers Borussia Dortmund, who only play against Wolfsburg the day after. A Munich club legend firmly believes in a happy ending for the record champions, but is disappointed by the recent quarrels.

After the BVB blunder in the previous week, FC Bayern is back at the top of the Bundesliga, the eleventh championship in a row beckons. Nevertheless, after the chaos of the last few months on Säbener Straße, discontent is currently predominant – even among some club idols.

“It’s a sad story that I never would have expected. Bayern was already a big family in my day. ‘Mia san mia’ was the claim. A lot has been lost in the last few weeks,” explained the former FCB Goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff in an interview with the “Deichstube”.

The Belgian could do very little with a personnel decision by the German industry leader. “Something always happens in a marriage. But I can’t understand what happened to Julian Nagelsmann. The results were there: further in the Champions League, further in the cup, ahead in the league. This change of coach was not logical,” he emphasized .

BVB “didn’t take a huge chance, now Bayern are pulling through”

In this context, Pfaff also spoke about the recently heavily criticized CEO Oliver Kahn.

“It makes a huge difference whether I’ve been in goal for two decades or have a job in management where I’m responsible and have to take charge of everything. It’s a different dimension. And in the Kahn era, I just observe a bad development. Bayern’s heart has disappeared,” said the former keeper.

Nonetheless, Pfaff expects the serial winners in the league to come out on top in the end.

“Dortmund had a great chance. Bad luck was certainly there with the referee and the penalty that wasn’t given in Bochum. But it can’t be the case that they don’t win in the derby and also in Stuttgart Bayern through,” he predicted.
