The number of corona cases in January is not only high in the Bundesliga, there are also some outbreaks in Italy. This also applies to Salernitana, who brings up the rear. A familiar face was also affected.

Former Bayern star Franck Ribery has made a corona infection public. “In the past few days and weeks I was unfortunately stopped by Covid, which was very difficult. But thanks to God I’m getting better and better,” wrote the Frenchman from the Italian first division club US Salernitana on Twitter.

Ribery is apparently still not quite fit. “Since this week I’ve been training for myself again. I hope to be back on the field soon,” said the 38-year-old.

Salernitana confirmed eleven corona cases on January 4, including nine players. The club did not name names at the time. The championship game against FC Venice was then canceled.
