FC Bayern wanted to sign Nick Woltemade, but his club VfB Stuttgart was not yet ready for negotiations. Sports director Eberl draws consequences.

After the clear 4-0 win in the hardest test against Tottenham Hotspur, Max Eberl has closed the Nick Woltemade chapter for the time being. The sports board said about the German international: “I think we said enough. We tried to make the player tried to talk to Stuttgart.

With a view to the transfer window, Eberl was satisfied – not least because of Luis Díaz’s obligation for around 70 million euros. At the same time, he emphasized in Magenta Sport that movement was still possible by September 1st. The club has his squad together and will now wait and see how the situation develops. Eberl left a back door open for a possible Woltemade obligation.

Due to the injury, the Bundesliga club currently has to do without Jamal Musiala, Hiroki ITō and Alphonso Davies. That made transfer planning “heavier,” said Eberl. However, new players will not be obliged, since all three will be returned in October. “Until then, of course we have to bridge,” he said.

That should succeed with young talents. Against Tottenham, young people such as Lennart Karl, who scored the 3-0, convinced Tom Bischof and Paul Wanner. Eberl praised the overall “surprisingly sovereign” appearance and emphasized that the young players had left a strong impression in the final phase.
