The Bundesliga season is just over. But the clubs are already planning for the coming season. All important news in the transfer ticker.
This year’s transfer summer has it all. This is because the clubs are allowed to sign players for the first time in two different periods. Due to the club World Cup, the first transfer window for the participating clubs opens on June 1st and then closes again on June 10th. The regular transfer window then extends from July 1st to September 1st.
Bayer Leverkusen has secured Tim Oermann’s services. The 21-year-old defender comes from the Bundesliga relegated VfL Bochum and signs a contract with the runner-up until June 30, 2029. In the coming season, however, Oermann will not yet appear for the “Werkelf”. The club initially gives the U21 international to the Austrian champion Sturm Graz.
Leverkusen’s sports manager Simon Rolfes said that the loan after Graz offers Oermann the opportunity to develop further at a top club and gain international experience. This will “make him very good access for Bayer 04 in the long run,” said Rolfes. VfL Bochum and Leverkusen did not provide any information about the transfer fee.
Before going to Austria for Oermann, another highlight is waiting: the central defender is in the line-up of the German U21 national team for the European Championship in Slovakia in June.
The German vice champion Bayer Leverkusen is apparently faced with goalkeeper Mark Flekken. As the TV broadcaster Sky reports, the Rhinelanders and the former Freiburg goalkeeper agreed on a contract until 2028. A transfer fee between 10 and 14 million euros is under discussion.
Flekken, who played eight caps for the Netherlands, has a contract at FC Brentford in the English Premier League until summer 2027. The 1.94 meter tall goalkeeper has had a strong playing time and is faced with a move to Leverkusen before jumping into the Champions League.
In the goalkeeper position there is a need for Bayer. Captain Lukas Hradecky has been 35 years old and will soon be replaced. The attempt to build Matěj Kovář as the successor has apparently not succeeded in the satisfaction of the Bayer bosses. Kovář is to be resumed if flekken is committed.
FC Bayern sells talent Frans to Red Bull Salzburg. This was announced by the German record champions on Wednesday. The defensive player was last loan to VfB Stuttgart and 1. FC Heidenheim. Now Bavaria separates permanently from the 22-year-old. In Salzburg he receives a contract until 2028.
Krätzig has been running for the professionals of FC Bayern seven times, but has not yet been able to prevail permanently. “He is another player who was trained by FC Bayern and makes his way in professional football. We wish him all the best,” quotes Bayern sports director Christoph Freund. It is not known which transfer fee Salzburg transfers for the services from Krätzig to Munich.
