Bayer Leverkusen releases his long -standing goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky to the AS Monaco. At Bayer he had recently received well -known competition.

Bayer Leverkusen’s long -time regular keeper and team captain Lukas Hradecky changes with immediate effect to AS Monaco. The Finnish football-National goalkeeper receives a two-year contract by June 2027 at the French Ligue 1 club. Bayer is to bring in at least three million euros for the goalkeeper, according to media reports.

“Despite his contract, which is still valid for a year, we gave Lukas Hradecky early after very friendly conversations. It was his wish to be able to play as number one again in the Champions League after a great and intensive time at Bayer 04,” said Leverkusen’s sports director Simon Rolfes, according to the club.

Flekken made hradecky competition

Hradecky switched from Eintracht Frankfurt to Werkelf and completed a total of 286 competitive games. The Finn has been the clear number one in the Werkelf’s goal since 2018, the team sensationally led the team to the double and decisively shaped the most successful era in the club’s history.

After the commitment of the Dutch goalkeeper Mark Flekken, the 35-year-old at Bayer would have threatened to lose his regular place. For Hradecky, “a personal era” comes to an end. “I lost my heart to the club and the fantastic fans in the Bayarena. After the greatest success of my career, however, there is now a chance to develop my number one status in Monaco and continue to play in the Champions League,” said Hradecky.

Hradecky successor in sight

Leverkusen is said to have a successor in view. Goalkeeper Janis Blaswich from RB Leipzig should switch to runner -up. According to media reports, the 34-year-old is said to have already completed the mandatory medical check on Friday and cost a transfer fee of around two million euros.

In Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah and most recently Granit Xhaka, several top performers had recently left the runner -up. There are also rumors of change around the two defenders Piero Hincapie and Alejandro Grimaldo, midfielder Exequiel Palacios and striker Victor Boniface.
