Bayer Leverkusen brings Manchester United star

Women’s Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen has recruited German-Brazilian striker Ivana Ferreira Fuso from top English club Manchester United. As the Werkself announced on Thursday, the two clubs have agreed on a one-year loan.

“She is a technically skilled, creative and, above all, very dangerous attacker who can also be used variably on offense,” said Bayer’s sporting director, Achim Feifel.

Born in Brazil, Ferreira Fuso grew up in Sindelfingen, Baden-Württemberg, and began her career at SC Freiburg. After a year with the Swiss first division club FC Basel, she switched to the Women’s Premier League.

The 21-year-old has been through the German U-national teams since the U15s, but then decided on the Brazilian senior national team, for whom she has played four friendlies so far.
