Central defender Piero Hincapié from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has been suspended for three games after his red card in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-2).
This was announced by the sports court of the German Football Association on Monday. The Ecuadorian brutally fouled Gladbach midfielder Julian Weigl in injury time.
The suspension applies to all league games played by the Werkself. Hincapié will therefore miss the season finale at VfL Bochum (May 27) and the start of the coming season. The judgment is final.
