Bavaria opens sports camps for refugees

The Bavarian State Sports Association offers emergency accommodation in its sports camps to people who fled before the war against Ukraine.

As the BLSV announced on Monday, the locations in Inzell, on Spitzingsee, in Regen and Bischofsgrün are available to the refugees as shelters.

“Especially in this crisis situation, the great integrative power of organized sport is particularly evident. In our strong community of solidarity, we want to actively help the refugees from Ukraine in order to assist them in this humanitarian catastrophe,” said BLSV President Jörg Ammon.

Free FFP2 masks are provided to the refugees. People also receive insurance cover for exercising in Bavarian sports clubs. Several thousand refugees have already arrived in Bavaria.
