The character is also said to have convinced in the conversations. Since Baumann is supposed to build something on Schalke in the long term, a contract duration of under three years is unrealistic.
With the commitment of Baumann, the three-member board is completely back in addition to the chairman Matthias Tillmann and CFO Christina Rühl-Hamers. The search had also dragged on for a long time because the club was said to have been very picky. The Schalke, according to the “Kicker” report, was probably interested in Fredi Bobic or Jörg Schmadtke. However, no agreement could be reached with them. So far, however, it is currently still unclear how the previous interim sports director Youri Mulder continues.
