January 11, 2025 (changed at 11.42pm) – MILAN

The last place in the 2025 Final Eight draw belongs to Tortona. In the preview of the 15th day of Lba Vital (22 points) leads the comeback victory against Scafati and gives the arithmetic qualification to coach De Raffaele’s team, who risked having the last valid ticket for the Italian Cup snatched from Treviso. In the big match of the evening between the top teams, Brescia overtakes Trento and thus earns the title of winter champion for the first time in its history. Trapani also smiles, closing the evening with an overwhelming victory against Sassari and securing second place at the end of the first round.

TORTONA-SCAFATI 99-94

Coach De Raffaele smiles, who needed this victory to confirm his place among the top eight of the first round of Lba. Vital’s excellent start to the match (7 points in the first 7′) scares Scafati, but when the US guard slows down the Campanians respond with the accelerations of Anim and Gray, who put the former Ramondino’s team firmly in command. Givova’s 30-point third quarter fueled by triples from Zanelli and Miaschi seems to definitively direct the match, but an extraordinary Biligha keeps Bertram alive, who scores the lead with 2′ to go (91-91). It’s Vital’s time again, who with two consecutive shots from the arc closes the match once and for all.

Tortona: Vital 22, Biligha 17, Strautins 14

Scafati: Gray 21, Miaschi 14, Cinciarini 13

BRESCIA-TRENTO 83-77

Excellent victory for coach Poeta, in a match that seemed to decree a completely different result, at least in the early stages. In fact, Trento enjoyed Niang’s burning start, subsequently consolidated by an excellent Ellis. Brescia instead seems to struggle in finding spaces inside the opponent’s area, until Ndour (12 points in the first 20′ with 6/7 from 2) takes responsibility for the Leonessa attack, dragging Germani from -18 to two lengths behind at the end of the first half (41-43). The second half takes place on a tightrope, with Rivers and Ford battling it out. This brings us to the last minute of the match tied (77-77). First Burnell and then Ivanovic give the decisive advantage: Ellis and Pecchia are unable to reply, Germani is winter champion for the first time in its history.

Brescia: 18, Rivers 16, Burnell 15

Trent: Ford 18, Ellis 13, Mawugbe 8

TRAPANI-SASSARI 88-68

After the defeat suffered against Venice, the Sicilians immediately got back up. In a match with uninspiring percentages, Trapani prevailed thanks to a better ball turn (28 assists against the opponents’ 14) and the Sharks’ ability to attract fouls in the area. Dinamo resists until the third quarter, when Robinson and Petrucelli split the game: from then on Repesa’s team spreads also thanks to the former Gentile, reaching the maximum advantage of +23 (89-65) in the last flashes of competition. Tonight’s overwhelming performance gives Trapani second place in the standings at the end of the first round: a sensational result for president Antonini’s team, in its first season in Serie A after 32 years of absence.

Trapani: Gentile 12, Yeboah 11, Alibegovic 10

Sassari: Tambone 15, Veronesi 11, Halilovic and Fobbs 10
