Basketball players Den Helder empty-handed after exciting cup final against Grashoppers

The women of Den Helder have not succeeded in extending their cup win. Almost the entire game the basketball players were behind against Grashoppers from Katwijk. As a result, it ended in 59-62.

Den Helder almost immediately fell behind against Grashoppers. They didn’t have to chase very long, because it quickly became 5-1. Partly due to a three-pointer from Deborah Vos, the Katwijkers came to 5-8. The margin was quickly expanded in the remainder of the first quarter: 7-13.

In the second period, Den Helder quickly came back to 11-13 by hits from Sarah Curran and Kiki Fleuren. Hereafter, the Katwijkers took the initiative again and ran out to 13-20. The basketball players from Den Helder recovered and came back to 24-27 before half-time.

After the break, the Den Helder basketball players came back to 30-31. Hereafter, Grashoppers took another wide margin at 34-41. Mario Bennes’s team made it exciting again and came back to 42-47 in the third quarter.
