The Golden State Warriors suffered another setback in the NBA against the Miami Heat, and the fans became frustrated.

The Warriors around Steph Curry and national team captain Dennis Schröder lost 98:114 in their own stadium on Tuesday evening (January 7, 2025, local time) against the struggling Miami Heat, who also played in San Francisco without their suspended star Jimmy Butler.

For the Warriors it was the second home defeat in a row. As with the 99:129 defeat against Sacramento, some fans left the arena early and the Warriors were seen off with boos. Even superstar Curry couldn’t prevent the next setback, even though he was the game’s best scorer with 31 points and sank one of his famous threes from more than ten meters away shortly before halftime.

For Dennis Schröder it was the seventh defeat in the eleventh game since moving to San Francisco. Schröder had five points against Miami and also contributed seven assists and three rebounds. The Warriors are currently in tenth place in the Western Conference and have to worry about making it into the playoffs.

Kleber and Mavericks end bankruptcies series

Meanwhile, Maximilian Kleber ended the series of bankruptcies with the Dallas Mavericks. After five defeats in a row, the team from Texas prevailed 118:97 against the Los Angeles Lakers led by superstar LeBron James. Kleber contributed five points and assists as well as three rebounds.

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Mavs’ two best scorers, were still missing with injuries, but Quinten Grimes (26 points, 9 rebounds) and PJ Washington (22 points, 8 rebounds) took over responsibility for the Mavs.

While Dallas is in fifth place in the Western Conference, world champion Daniel Theis and the New Orleans Pelicans are still at the bottom of the table. The bottom team lost 97:104 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and suffered their 30th defeat in their 37th game. Theis had three points, two assists and eight rebounds.
