FC Bayern Munich suffered a small setback in the EuroLeague against AS Monaco and missed out on making it into the top ten teams
The FC Bayern Munich basketball players missed out on making it into the top ten in the Euroleague. The Bundesliga club suffered its ninth defeat in its 16th game against AS Monaco. In BMW Park it was 80:91 (31:46). The best thrower for Bayern was Sylvain Francisco with 21 points.
Bayern were only at eye level in the first quarter
While the hosts played on a level playing field with Monaco in the first quarter, they found themselves behind from a bigger deficit early on in the following half. Above all, the guests had a stronger bench that was more efficient at finishing than Bayern’s. Therefore, Munich were already 15 points behind at the break.
After the restart, Bayern missed too many baskets again, but then fought their way back to seven points. In the final quarter, Monaco was more efficient on offense and gave Munich no chance.
