A week after the first defeat of the season against champion Alba Berlin, the previously surprisingly strong promoted Rostock Seawolves in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) went away empty-handed again.

The newcomer lost 86:97 (49:47) at home to Brose Bamberg, who had not won before.

Solomon Young convinced the former series champion from Bamberg with 20 points and seven rebounds. Top scorer for the hosts was Tyron Nelson (19 points). Rostock, who went down 70-104 in the top game against Berlin last week, are 4-2 victories after six games. Bamberg (1:5) ended its negative series.

Vice-champion FC Bayern Munich didn’t give up after problems in the first half against medi Bayreuth.

Coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team beat the guests 81:68 (34:36) thanks to a strong third quarter (28:6) and got their fifth win in six games. Only Telekom Baskets Bonn and Berlin (both 5-0) have a better record than FC Bayern, for whom Cassius Winston recorded 19 points.

The MHP giants Ludwigsburg (5:1), who also started well, defeated the Veolia Towers Hamburg 103:92 (57:41), the EWE Baskets Oldenburg prevailed with 77:70 (43:36) at the Fraport Skyliners in Frankfurt.
