Baseball thriller: HCAW and Amsterdam on to a decisive fifth game for a place in the Holland Series

An all-deciding fifth match will determine tomorrow which club will go to the Holland Series (final for the national championship). Today, the HCAW baseball players won 7-3 against Amsterdam Pirates, making the score 2-2 in the best-of-five series.

For HCAW, Kaj Timmermans was the starting pitcher. Nelmerson Angela started on the mound for Amsterdam Pirates. Amsterdam took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. HCAW struck back in the third inning by getting three men across home plate. The team from Amsterdam tied the score in the fifth inning. The final match was for the reigning national champions, who slowly but surely increased to 7-3.

The decisive fifth match in Bussum is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. Rotterdam-based Neptunus previously qualified for the Holland Series.
