Bas stalked his ex for years: admission to a clinic and no contact order

Bas N. (52) from Eindhoven has been convicted of stalking Loes from Zutphen for a year and a half. The court in Den Bosch imposed 288 days in prison, of which 90 were conditional. He will therefore be released immediately this Wednesday, because he has been in pre-trial detention since March. He must be admitted to a clinic as soon as possible. The Eindhove resident will also receive a contact and location ban for five years with immediate effect.

Bas and Loes started a relationship in the summer of 2020, after they met through Tinder. Loes broke up with him after two months and that was bad for Bas. He was disappointed and frustrated and started stalking her. He placed profiles of Loes with her telephone number and address on sex and dating sites. Bas also placed orders in Loes’ name.

The woman soon noticed that Bas was very negative about his ex-wife and another ex. The anger and hatred frightened Loes so much that she broke off the relationship.

To stalk
Then the stalking started. For two years and four months, according to Loes. Her life turned into a nightmare. Bas sent thousands of messages to her from no fewer than sixty different telephone numbers. He also called hundreds of times, sent countless emails, sent… dickpics and videos and posted stories about her on his social media.

He also sent her a photo of her house in Zutphen, suggesting that he had stood on her doorstep. Other people also received emails, including senior officials in the police and justice department, to whom Bas asked attention for his case. Loes was always in the cc. She lived in constant fear that he would send something again.

Delusional disorder
A psychologist’s report showed that Bas suffers from a delusional disorder. He is autistic and sees things that are not there. He is also quite suspicious. This went well for years, but after he got divorced and lost his job and relationship, things went wrong.

The court took it very seriously that Bas had not respected his wish to no longer have contact. The judge spoke of a gross infringement on Loes’ life by flooding her with emails, apps and messages on Facebook.

According to the court, Loes could suffer from such bullying behavior for years to come. He did not realize the seriousness of his behavior and he did not take any responsibility for his actions and he mainly blamed Loes.

Bas N. was previously convicted for stalking a woman. The court now mainly wants him to receive help with his delusional disorder. He must report to the probation service within 48 hours. He may await his admission to a clinic at home.

Loes is not the real name of the victim, Bas is.
