Bartender Victor stops at First Dates after 800 episodes and looks back on flirts at the bar and embarrassing dates: ‘I still scooped ice at his wedding’

With his steel blue eyes, tightly trimmed beard, giletje with white blouse and bow, bartender Victor Abeln (41) was the eye-catcher of the TV dating program First Dates for eight years. It was not uncommon for women (and men to) to have had a date with him at the most famous bar in the Netherlands. On Tuesday it was his last episode and was said goodbye to the bartender of the first hour.
