“Very, very weak opponent”: Atik etches against BTSV

A Sunday shot brings Eintracht Braunschweig in Magdeburg to win the new season at the start. The frustration is deep.
The start of the season succeeded: 40 minutes had to outnumber Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday at the 1st FC Magdeburg. Thanks to a dream goal by Mehmet Aydin from more than 30 meters (82nd minute), the BTSV still prevailed 1-0 (0-0) and took the three points from one opponent after the final whistle.
FCM professional Baris Atik literally talked to Rage in the Sky interview-and did not leave good hair on the victorious guests from Braunschweig. “The opponent didn’t do anything today. In my eyes, the opponent was a very, very weak opponent in my eyes,” said the 30-year-old.
And further: “I think if you play this game ten times, you win nine times and once the opponent wins with oh and noise. They themselves don’t know how they won the game and that pukes me even more to be honest.”
In fact, Magdeburg had started better in front of a home backdrop. FCM striker Martijn Kaars alone missed the best chances with a post shot (27th) and shortly afterwards in a promising position (33rd). Another flank from Lubambo Musonda also landed on the post (44th).
“We were extremely dangerous,” said Atik, but also restricted: “We had some who you have to do, we just didn’t do it, that’s how it is in football.” In the end, the little bit of luck was missing in the end.
Magdeburg’s defender Herbert Bockhorn agreed with his teammate. “I think that Eintracht Braunschweig actually didn’t earn more than one point today,” he said, but saw the guilt clearly on the offensive in his own inability. “Unfortunately we did not use our chances. Unfortunately, you often get the receipt in football in the end. Of course, it doesn’t make it better from such a single campaign,” said the defensive man.
Eintracht should not care about the opponent’s frustration. After the red card against Kevin Ehlers because of rough foul play (54th), the BTSV played outnumbered for around 40 minutes. A dream goal by newcomer Aydin in the end brought the acclaimed victory. Coach Heiner Backhaus was therefore completely satisfied. “For all of us, of course, a perfect debut in the new season,” he said.
