Bankruptcy in Mannheim! Polar bears have to go to the endgame for the endgame

Now there’s the final before the final!

The Eisbären Berlin lost the fourth semi-final against the Adler Mannheim 3:4 (1:1, 2:2, 0:1). This puts the polar bears up 2-2 in the best-of-five series after a 2-0 lead and on Thursday (7:30 p.m., MB Arena) everything is at stake!

Whoever wins plays the final series against Red Bull Munich, the loser is on vacation. But the Tuesday game was already worthy of a final.

Mannheim’s lead by Matthias Plachta (6th) turned Zach Boychuk (19th) and Matt White (35th). Then the double strike of the eagles. Borna Rendulic (37th) first hit a penalty that Morgan Ellis owed to Tim Wohlgemuth. Ellis at Magentasport: “If the referee sees it that way, then that’s the way it is. You can’t do anything about that.”

This was followed by an own goal by Kai Wissmann (39′). Since there are officially no own goals, Nigel Dawes is the scorer. Wissmann of all people then ensured the quick equalizer (40th) – what a thriller in front of 11,512 spectators.

Markus Eisenschmid (53rd) finally made the decision. National player Jonas Müller (26): “We make life difficult for ourselves, for example with mistakes in substitutions.”
