Simon Zoller from VfL Bochum, after the historic 0:7 (0:4) defeat in the Bundesliga game against FC Bayern Munich, took a hard stab at the team’s performance.

“It wasn’t clear enough, I don’t think,” said the striker after Bochum’s heaviest home defeat in the upper house, adding: “I’ve never been screwed apart like this by all the rules of the art.”

From his point of view, VfL would not have been competitive with the performance shown “not only against Bayern today. That was not what VfL Bochum should stand for,” said Zoller.

His trainer Thomas Reis was also not satisfied with the performance. “We should have shown more resistance,” explained the 48-year-old: “I was disappointed with how we fought the duels.”

However, Reis did not exclude himself from his criticism. “After the 0: 3 we still tried to press, there was no order in it. I’m holding my own nose, we should have made it a little more stable,” explained the VfL coach.

After the third game day, Bochum is bottom of the table without a point. On Friday at SC Freiburg (8:30 p.m. / DAZN) it will “not be easy either, because they are also a great team,” explained Reis: “It doesn’t help anything. It’s important to me: get up more than you fall.”
