The bankrupt Brasserie De Kroon in Assen has a new owner. Or rather: owners. Horeca entrepreneurs Nicole Landsbergen and partner Harry Bus from Assen are starting a snack bar. The name De Kroon disappears. What replaces the facade, the duo has to spar about that. They want to open from 1 June.
Nicole Landsbergen has been running the Brown Café De Pimp on Kerkplein for three years. Furthermore, she has also had catering company Het Smaeckhuys for years and arranges Winters Assen on the Koopmansplein every year. Harry Bus has been a familiar face in the Asser Horeca for more than twenty years, as the cheerful bartender of café De Koppelpaarden.
Together they board the adventure on the Brink, where the bankruptcy of Brasserie De Kroon was released ‘an interesting place’. According to Landsbergen, it is a nice location to start a nice and cozy eatery together with bus. “With a card with at least tasty spareribs, large schnitzels and saté. Because nice spare ribs eat, where can you still do that in Assen? I miss that.”
Landsbergen initially also wants to keep café De Pimp. Although it is clear that she, together with her partner, leaves for the Brink to help the case in her legs. “We are going to make something beautiful out of it. And under what name, we will see that. Brasserie De Kroon is of course a well -known brand name, but we prefer to go for something new.”
With the arrival of Landsbergen and bus, the list of catering companies on the Brink has been filled again. On Monday it was already announced that the adjacent catering building of the bankrupt De Bakker and the Schenker will be taken over by restaurant The Black Tie. That too will open June 1.
Restaurant De Bakker and De Schenker and Brasserie De Kroon were declared bankrupt at the end of March. Manager Renate Vos and her partner Berthold Ziengs of the accounting could no longer keep things in the legs. They had an increasing rental debt, tax liability and still unpaid bills from Catering wholesaler Actifood. The bankruptcy was also requested by this catering supplier.
