Italy’s Elisa Balsamo has won the fourth stage of the Giro Donne, a 126-kilometre stage from Carpi to Reggio Emilia. The world champion of the Trek-Segafredo team kept two Dutch riders behind in the bunch sprint: Charlotte Kool was second, Marianne Vos third.

Balsamo had already won the first stage. Annemiek van Vleuten remains the leader in the general classification. Wednesday follows a ride from Sarnica to Bergamo.
