Damiano Tommasi is the new mayor of Verona. When 234 sections out of 265 were scrutinized, the former footballer with 53.5% of the votes has a clear advantage over the outgoing mayor Federico Sboarina, who is still at 46.5% and is penalized by the lack of similarity with the former’s list.
