Bale opts for American adventure and, like Chiellini, signs with Los Angeles FC | NOW

Gareth Bale continues his career in the United States. The Welshman leaves for Los Angeles FC, where he becomes a teammate of Giorgio Chiellini.

Los Angeles FC picks up the 32-year-old Bale on a free transfer after his departure from Real Madrid, where he was under contract for nine seasons. It is still unknown until when Bale will sign in the ‘City of Angels’. According to American media, it is a contract of at least one year.

“See you soon, Los Angeles,” Bale wrote in a short response on social media on Sunday. Los Angeles FC will be the attacker’s first club outside Europe. Before his Real Madrid adventure, Bale, who has also reportedly been in talks with Cardiff City recently, played for Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Bale is the second major purchase for Los Angeles FC this summer. Chiellini announced earlier this month that he was leaving for the MLS club. The 37-year-old defender was also transfer-free after his departure from Juventus. Kelvin Leerdam is also under contract with Los Angeles FC.

Los Angeles FC currently leads the Western Conference in Major League Soccer. The club was founded in 2014 and has been part of the MLS since 2018, in which the title has never been taken.

Both Chiellini and Bale cannot be officially welcomed until July 7. Then the transfer market opens in the United States.
