Bagnaia solid and serene MotoGP champion

Pecco’s global success in the name of his character: a demonstration of strength that increases his value

The charm of the quiet man. Pecco Bagnaia won his second consecutive MotoGP World Championship in Valencia, a feat achieved in this class only by Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, with the certainly not trivial meaning that the comparison with these two names brings with it. The Ducati rider did it with the consistency that accompanied him throughout the most recent part of his career: clarity, speed, coolness and indeed tranquility. All jarring qualities in a sport that has always thrived on risks and adrenaline. But there is no better way to win than another. At the end of a pilot’s story, when the calculations are made, what will remain is the roll of honor and the respect he had for himself and his character. Bagnaia, today, is doing just this: he collects successes and remains the man he is. Giving oneself up when under pressure remains one of the most irresistible temptations that exist. But he doesn’t pay, and in the end by doing so he is disappointed twice.
