The Baggelhuizerplas in Assen must get a boost and there is also a thought about accessibility. For example, the new swimming scaffolding must also be accessible for people in a wheelchair and there will be a special parking space. A step in the right direction, thinks experience expert Harry Haddering.

But according to him, much more could be done. “It is not only for a few people who are disabled. The cradle to the grave must be thought about accessibility,” said Haddering. As an experience expert, he thinks it is a shame that this theme is only on the agenda if adjustments are considered.

Immediately after he comes out of the taxi, the first obstacle is already in the way. To get to the Baggelhuizerplas, Haddering has to go through the wooden fences in his electric wheelchair. A deep ditch is located directly on the side.

During a round along the lake we come across more examples of obstacles and things that can be more convenient. “For example, the paths. If we would now meet a mobility scooter, someone has to go through the grass.”
