Badr Hari fight interrupted due to violent riots between fans, bizarre end of Glory 80 | Martial arts

The fight between Badr Hari and Arkadiusz Wrzosek has been broken off in Hasselt tonight. Things got completely out of hand in the Belgian hall when Polish fans got into a fight with the Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer’s ‘Badr Army’. The rest of the program was also scrapped for security reasons. Glory says to regret the heavy riots

Even before the fight there was a very explosive atmosphere in the Trixxo Arena in Hasselt, with a very large ‘Badr Army’ but at the same time a solid group of Polish fans who supported Wrzosek. The fight itself was even, with some more initiative from Hari, until he himself was knocked down after a knee from Wrzosek at the end of the second round. Hari got up and rang the bell, but the third round would never start again.

It really went all wrong outside the ring. Chairs flew through the air and fans confronted each other. Journalists and spectators then fled after an incident near the press section. Peace never returned. People tried the arena and looked for an emergency exit. Before the decisive round, the fight was stopped and a little later it was announced that it would not be resumed. As a result, the clash between Jamal Ben Saddik and the Dutchman Levi Rigters, which should have been the closing piece of the evening, also ended.

Wrzosek was supported in Belgium by supporters of ADO Den Haag and by Polish fans. The Polish kickboxer is a fanatic supporter of the club from the Kitchen Champion Division. Fans of ADO maintain a friendly relationship with supporters of the Polish club Legia Warsaw. Many of Hari’s supporters had also come to Belgium to support him.
