At the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show press conference on Thursday (February 5), Bad Bunny said: “I obviously want to bring a lot of my culture to the stage, but I don’t want to prejudge anything. It’s going to be fun and it’s going to be a party.”
The Latin singer further explained, “People just have to care about dancing… I believe there is no better dance than the one that comes from the heart.”
Bad Bunny even insisted that it was more important for fans watching on Sunday to take advantage of their dance lessons than to learn Spanish. When he was announced as a headliner last fall, the star teased his fans during his “Saturday Night Live” monologue, telling them they had four months to learn Spanish before his Super Bowl performance. “It’s better if they learn to dance,” Bad Bunny told Apple Music’s Ebro Darden and Zane Lowe.
Super Bowl for Bad Bunny bigger than Grammys
Throughout the press conference, Bad Bunny emphasized how grateful he is for the opportunity to bring his historic album “Debi Tirar Mas Photos” to the national stage. “I didn’t expect any of this. I wasn’t looking for album of the year at the Grammys, nor the Latin Grammys. I wasn’t looking to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show,” Bad Bunny said. “I wanted to connect with my roots, connect with my people more than ever, connect with myself, my history and my culture, and I did that in a very honest way,” he added.
Bad Bunny will make history with the first Spanish-language halftime performance. His appearance on the national stage follows a significant win at the 2026 Grammys. On Sunday, the Latin star took home the Grammy for Album of the Year, becoming the first artist to win the big prize for a non-English language album.
Bad Bunny remained tight-lipped about details about his appearance, particularly as to whether he would have surprise guests. “I won’t tell you,” he said. Benito continued with a cheeky answer: “Of course I have many guests. It will be my family, my friends and the entire Latino community around the world who support me,” he said. “There are many people around the world who love me, not just Latinos. You just said that I’m number one in China, right?”
