State of Art is back on the German market. A decade ago, the then owner decided to focus more on the Belgian and Dutch markets. Now the Dutch menswear brand is back as “one of the strongest menswear brands in the Benelux countries” and ready to invest in the German market, Sales Director Jort Jeursen told FashionUnited. For this, the company wants to work with “local heroes in the towns and villages”.

Before the brand disappeared from Germany, State of Art cooperated with around 400 wholesale partners. Ten years later, everything should be built up “step by step with the right partners”, according to Jeursen. The brand shows its collections to German wholesale partners in the showroom in Düsseldorf.

State of Art is currently working with 25 retailers, such as the men’s outfitter Zur Blauen Hand from Trier. The number of dealers in Germany is to be increased to 80 next year. The company is also planning to present itself at the Berlin fashion fair Premium. But other international trade fairs are also conceivable for the company.

With eight seasonal collections per year, the knitwear specialist relies on “sportswear with an innovative twist.” The products, ranging in size from S to 4XL, are aimed at men between the ages of 30 and 50 who choose the brand for its range of “colour, trendy pieces and established basics”, said Jeursen. Polo shirts and jersey shorts are particularly popular in summer, as are mélange knitwear and ‘Car Jacket’ blousons in winter.

The brand’s polo shirts are between 59.95 and 109.95 euros, shorts between 69.95 and 99.95 euros and jackets between 169.95 and 349.95 euros. In addition to clothing, the range also includes accessories such as belts, hats and socks as well as bags and luggage.
