The beach volleyball duo Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler reached the final of an Elite16 Pro Tour tournament for the first time
The German champions beat the Austrians Julian Hörl and Alexander Horst 2-0 (21:15, 21:18) in the semi-finals in Paris late on Saturday evening.
In the final (4:00 p.m.) Ehlers and Wickler will face Ondrej Perusic and David Pigner from the Czech Republic.
In the women’s category, Rio Olympic champions Laura Ludwig and Louisa Lippmann were the last German team to be eliminated. In the quarterfinals, Hamburg’s Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth (USA) lost 1:2 (21:18, 18:21, 8:15). The tournament in the French capital serves as preparation for the upcoming World Championships in Mexico (October 6th to 15th).
