Bach says goodbye, Coventry now formally Olympic boss

12.19 pm: The new chairman Kirsty Coventry has formally taken over the management of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from Thomas Bach. The 41-year-old former top swimmer from Zimbabwe was handed over the key to the head office in Lausanne by the 71-year-old German during a ceremony.

Coventry is the first woman in the highest office at the IOC. She won the elections of six male candidates in March.
